Appearance: Blake is well groomed. He's 6'3 and has brown hair and eyes. There's nothing particularly unique about his appearance and he looks like the typical D.C aid with well tailored suits.

Blake Moran is a Harvard graduate. He started off in finance but it was not a good fit because of his high ethical standards and so he left the finance sector and took a lower paying position working in education and then as executive aid (aka personal assistant) to the Secretary of State. His entire life revolves around his position at State and it allows little time for him to have a personal life.
Blake is a side character and his personal history prior to college is not very filled in. We know that he talks to his mother almost daily and she is always asking him when he will get a promotion despite the fact that he has a high level and respected position in government.
Personality: Blake is an extremely hard working and dedicated person. He is intelligent, having gone to Harvard for his education. He started working in a finance firm but this firm was unethical and so he quit -- leaving behind a large salary in favor of smaller salary but a life of service that he finds more fulfilling. He is driven and never stops working and trying to make the world a better place. Despite the fact that working as an aid to the Secretary of State he doesn't always know if he's making a difference he continually strives to do his best.
In the most recent season, there is more insight given to his past personal life -- though, it is clear currently he didn't have time outside of work for a personal life. He had previously dated a fellow finance employee at his old firm. This ex was asking Blake why he hasn't come out as gay to his coworkers and the Secretary -- since, State is a far less hostile environment than the one that they had been in previously. We found out, then, that Blake isn't gay despite that he often comes off as such in his mannerisms. He knows what people think of him but he has never felt a desire or need to validate his sexuality to anyone because it was none of their business. It's pointed out to him that this is him not allowing people to really know him rather than him simply being himself. This leads to him making a rather subtle but state of mind changing decision for him to come out to Elizabeth McCord, the Secretary of State. He explains that his right to privacy isn't the same as him choosing to keep people out and if he didn't come out he would never be able to have the closeness he desired to the people around him who he sincerely cares for and considers friends.
Blakes strengths are in his dedication, ability to deal with high pressure situations and keep ahead of one of the most busy people in the world. His work is often taken for granted but he never complains and his loyalty is unquestioned. In contrast, his weaknesses are in his aversion to opening up about himself. He does not tend to put himself first and take care of himself as all his time is spent taking care of the Secretary and her family. While this is also a strength in a way, it is clear sometimes that this is taxing on his mental state. Another weakness is that Blake can be rather judgmental of people and their appearances. He expects people to present themselves well and with care.
Blake is often afraid that he doesn't do enough in his work. While he makes binders about important world issues sometimes he feels like that is saving the world one binder at a time, but other times he feels that maybe he's just making binders. He wants to make a difference and feeling that he is ineffectual in anything that he does is something he fears. Despite the moments where he feels like this he keeps doing what he is supposed to do, dedicating himself far beyond what is expected of him.
Powers/Abilities/Talents: He has no powers or special abilities. He is however, talented at time management, organization, managing people and critical thinking about problems.
